Conflict over Postwar Europe between the U.S. and Soviet Union
Allied Powers agree to allow countries in Europe to pursue Democratic elections following the end of World War II, as laid out in Yalta Conference
|
Following the war, the Soviet Union breaks this agreement and pushes for Communist led governments more closely aligned with their political aspirations

Soviet Leader Josef Stalin-
Stalin became the Dictator of the Soviet Union in 1929 and was very instrumental in developing his country into an industrial and military superpower. He also did not like the terms settled at the Yalta Conference, believing that they favored the Western (Democratic) countries more than the Soviet (Communist) bloc
